The French Department at Afro-Asian University is dedicated to ensuring that students achieve comprehensive proficiency in the French language, literature, and culture. Upon completing their studies, students are expected to demonstrate mastery of the following learning outcomes:
1. Linguistic Proficiency: Students will attain advanced proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking French, enabling them to effectively communicate in both formal and informal contexts.
2. Cultural Understanding: Students will develop a deep understanding of French culture, history, and society, allowing them to analyze and interpret French literary texts, cultural artifacts, and socio-political phenomena within their cultural and historical contexts.
3. Critical Thinking Skills: Students will develop critical thinking skills, enabling them to analyze, evaluate, and critique French literary works, cultural practices, and societal issues. They will be able to formulate well-reasoned arguments, support their claims with evidence, and engage in scholarly discourse.
4. Research and Scholarship: Students will acquire research skills and scholarly habits necessary for academic inquiry and intellectual growth. They will be able to conduct independent research, locate and evaluate sources, and present their findings in written and oral forms.
