About
The Department of Aqeedah and Intellectual Doctrines at Afro Asian University is dedicated to the study of Islamic theology, philosophy, and intellectual traditions. Through its curriculum, the department aims to provide students with a deep understanding of the fundamental beliefs of Islam, the historical development of Islamic thought, and the philosophical underpinnings of Islamic teachings. The Department of Aqeedah and Intellectual Doctrines aims to achieve several learning outcomes for its students, including:
Understanding of Islamic Theology: Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of Islamic theology (Aqeedah) and its foundational principles, including the beliefs, concepts, and doctrines central to the Islamic faith.
Critical Analysis Skills: Students will acquire the ability to critically analyze and evaluate theological texts, doctrines, and philosophical arguments within the Islamic tradition, as well as in dialogue with other intellectual traditions.
Knowledge of Intellectual History: Students will gain knowledge of the intellectual history of Islam, including the development of theological schools of thought, key theological debates, and the contributions of Muslim scholars to philosophy and theology.
